Our History

Wavelengths Salon has been a fixture on 9th Street since August of 1994. Owner Sherry Clayton opened up in what was originally an A&P grocery store built in 1926. 704 Ninth Street still has the beautiful tin tiles on the 16-foot ceiling — giving us a glimpse back into the roaring 20’s. Wavelengths Salon exemplifies what makes Durham so special — a rich history married with intelligent, talented and unique individuals coming together to make you look and feel your best.
